Second drive-by shooting within 48 hours in city’s suburbs

Police are investigating a second drive-by shooting in Sydney in as many days.

Emergency crews rushed to Briggs Place in St Helens Park at around 7.15pm yesterday to reports of shots fired at a house.

The house and car were hit, but three people in the house were unharmed.

A dark colored Audi sedan was seen leaving the scene.

The police inspected the crime scene and are continuing their investigation today.

The shooting came after a family home in Western Sydney was hit by bullets on Tuesday night in what police said was a drive-by shooting.

Officers said several shots were fired from a light-coloured car at the house in Myall Street, Merrylands.

No injuries were reported.

Acting NSW Police Commissioner Darren Beach said the shooting was a suspected gang attack at the wrong house.
