The 18-year-old was, in many ways, born to fight.

Originally from Oahu, Hawaii, Lee’s father from Singapore and mother from South Korea were skilled martial artists and, naturally, Lee himself wore them from an early age.

“I’ve been on the mats since I learned to walk. I think I started training when I was about 3 years old,” he said.

“Everything I usually focus on is MMA related, but sometimes I like to play video games on the weekend.”

As the youngest of four siblings, Lee had some high-profile role models growing up.

His oldest sister Angela was the first ONE Junior World Champion and held the ONE MMA Atomweight World Title from 2016 until his retirement in 2023. And his older brother Christian still holds the ONE MMA crowns in lightweight and welterweight.

But it wasn’t until the younger Lee got a taste of the competition that he followed in their footsteps.

“I’ve always had a lot of fun training MMA. However, I found I had a real passion for it once I started competing,” he said.

“I think I’ve had a pretty steady and gradual increase in my skills over the years, but once I really started to focus on MMA and decided that it was something I wanted to do, that’s when my skills really took off.

“I think at about 13, when I won the Worlds, I realized I could really do this.”

After going undefeated in multiple disciplines as an amateur competitor, Lee signed with ONE to much fanfare in 2024.

Despite being a teenager, the United MMA representative has had a long apprenticeship in the martial arts.

With the help of his famous siblings, of course, he has an elite support system to help him navigate the notoriously cutthroat world of combat sports.

“All these big tournaments are always the most nerve-wracking thing. But luckily, all my siblings have already been through it, so I’ve always had their support through everything,” he said.

“My brother, he’s been here with me every step of the way and the main thing he tells me is to stay focused on the goal and not let anything distract you.

“Angela told me a little about staying mentally healthy so I can make sure you keep your mental and physical health in check.”

Lee’s other sister, Victoria, tragically passed away at just 18 years old in December 2022. She also showed promising career in her three victorious appearances under the ONE banner before her life was devastatingly cut short.

Angela announced her retirement following the tragedy, while Christian and Adrian vowed to honor their late sister throughout their fighting careers.

Reflecting on his relationship with Victoria, Adrian revealed the lessons he learned from her along the way.

“My sister and I were very close. And since we were close in age, we did everything together,” he said.

“One quality I admired about her would probably be her determination. She was very focused and very determined and focused.’

Like his siblings, Lee has lofty goals for his fighting career and the first step in his journey as a professional is defeating Mamarella.

The 24-year-old Italian lives and trains in Sydney at the renowned Family Fight Team alongside ONE stars Coopar Royal and Faine Mesquita.

Despite Lee’s grand plans, he insists he will give his undefeated foe the respect he deserves.

“Right now the only thing I’m thinking about is beating Antonio Mamarella. After that, however, I plan to become a lightweight champion and possibly a two-division champion,” he said.

“Of course, all the competition I had before will help me deal with the pressure. But I just believe in my training and when the time comes, I’ll be ready for it.”
