A complaint filed in court Tuesday shows the officer said Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and “had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.” NBC reported the complaint as an allegation.
“He was unable to divide his attention, had slurred speech, was unstable and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” the complaint states.
In the photo, the singer’s eyes look glassy and bloodshot.
The officer quoted Timberlake as saying he only had one drink during the exchange.
“I had a martini and followed my friends home,” NBC reported the star as telling police.
The singer also refused to be tested for impairment, allegedly telling police: “No, I’m not taking a chemical test.”
On Wednesday, American reporter Miley Hogan appeared on Sunrise to discuss shock arrest.
“He was arrested shortly after midnight and taken back to the police station where he was charged with drink driving,” Hogan explained.
“Here’s his picture. He spent the night at the police station and went to court this morning with his lawyer and was later allowed to go home.
“Court documents show police saw him run a stop sign and then veer into the wrong lane.
“They pulled him over where Justin Timberlake refused a breathalyzer test, which is his right.
“Instead, he was given a field sobriety test. This is where the police may ask you to walk in a straight line or stand on a form.
“He performed poorly during this test, with police saying he was unsteady on his feet.
“Timberlake is on tour right now. His next appearance is Friday in Chicago. It is unclear whether he will attend.”
Timberlake will next appear in court on July 26.
“With NBC.”
