Australian basketball player Liz Cambage debuted an unrecognizable new look, leaving her Instagram fans stunned by the transformation.
The four-time WNBA star, who currently plays for Sichuan Yuanda in the Chinese Women’s Basketball Association, shared a series of stunning photos to her 1.2 million Instagram followers on Wednesday morning (AEST), in collaboration with fashion designer Mowalola Ogunlesi.
“We believe in @mowalola,” she captioned the post.

Mowalola quickly replied, “My one and only.”
Fans of the two-time Olympian had a hard time recognizing her in the great photo.
“Completely different person in these photos,” said one.
“I didn’t recognize you,” added another.
A third said: “Wow, you don’t look like you.”
Someone else asked, “Wow, is that you? What a beautiful metamorphosis!”
Cambage has been a polarizing figure in Australian basketball since rising to prominence in the late 2000s.
She represented Australia at London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but pulled out of Tokyo 2020 (which took place in 2021), citing mental health issues.
Her career with the Opals was effectively ended when visions later emerged of a physical altercation from 2021.
In the vision, the Australian center elbowed a Nigerian player in a pre-Olympic fight ahead of the 2021 Tokyo Games.
She then punched another opponent in a separate incident.
This sparked a retaliation against Cambage when she was on the bench. She was attacked from behind after a Nigerian player assaulted her.
Cambage also denied using a racial slur towards the Nigerian players.
The incident returned to the spotlight last year after Cambage made a surprising claim that she wanted to switch allegiance and play for Nigeria at this year’s Paris Olympics.
But that was quickly scuttled and she will not represent any nation at next month’s Olympics.
